Cooking & Nutrition Exploration workshops

This exciting, hands-on programme provides children with many opportunities to explore food and its impact on their physical, social and mental health. The programme aims to build upon children’s previous knowledge of food and create a curiosity that will encourage them to think critically about the Western diet. Through engaging and interactive cooking lessons children will build in confidence, improve their social skills through plenty of collaborative work, whilst following simple healthy recipes. Amongst nutritional exploration and balanced diet discussions, children will gain a crucial understanding of calorie intake, portion control and an awareness of ‘one diet, does not suit all.’

Types & Intensities of Physical Activity workshops

Physical activity is one of the most crucial ways for children to maintain a healthy lifestyle however, for many, it can be the most difficult. This character building, practical, fast paced programme will allow children to explore and critically evaluate the different types and intensities of physical activity, and why training differentiates across the sporting world. Bringing elements of sports science into primary schools, children will begin to think scientifically about the impact exercise has on the human body over time, depending on the different types and intensities of their training. This is an opportunity for children to explore an array of sporting activities, critically evaluate them, and find enjoyment in something new, potentially pursuing it in their future.
